Lily of the Valley Worship Center was established by founder Bishop L.K. Griggs in 1959. The Worship Center in its infancy began in a tin barn. While utilizing this barn as a church he was faced with constant persecution and threatened with jail detention if he did not cease and desist having church services there. He steadfastly refused and through perseverance was blessed to purchase an old army barracks located at 200 Oasis Road which he remodeled and built a church. In It's infancy there were only 2 members he and his wife. At the time of his demise the church membership had increased to over 100. On October 26, 1991 Bishop L.K. Griggs passed away at the age of 76.

Elder Jerry Eugene Johnson Sr. was appointed pastor of this church on July 10, 1992. He was a native of Portland, Oregon. Jerry Johnson received his minister's license in 1982, and was ordained on August 10th, 1984 under the late Bishop H.B. Daniels Sr. He is married to Leslie A. Johnson and is the father of seven children. He was also appointed Executive Secretary of the San Bernardino Region First Jurisdiction of Southern California on May 14th 1993. In November 2000 he was elected Treasurer of the General Council of Pastors and Elders of the Church of God in Christ.
