Pastor Jerry E. Johnson Sr. A Man of Integrity, Faith and Vision

Pastor Jerry E. Johnson Sr. has served faithfully in the ministry for over 25 years. Born the first of two children on May 6, 1957. In 1981, at the age of 23, he gave his life to the Lord and was filled with the Holy Ghost. One month later, because he understood his calling from an early age, he entered into the ministry and in June 1984 he was ordained as an Elder by the late Bishop H. B. Daniels, Sr. of Portland, Oregon.

During the first 11 years of his ministry, he served in several positions in the church; Janitor, Bus Driver, Local, District and State Youth President, Choir Director, Musician and Sunday School Superintendent. Throughout his many years of ministry, Elder Johnson has served under one pastor, Superintendent Billie E. Johnson (His Father).

Under the tutelage of Supt. B.E. Johnson, Elder J.E. Johnson Sr. has been commended for his humbleness, faithfulness, loyal and dedicated support to the leadership and the ministry. On August 10th, 1992, after the homecoming of LOV's founder, Bishop L.K. Griggs, Bishop Charles E. Blake appointed Elder Jerry E. Johnson Sr. Pastor of Lily of the Valley Church.

During his tenure, Pastor Johnson has sought God for His vision, laid before the Lord for His anointing, and obeyed the direction given by God. As a result, Lily of the Valley Worship Center has been tremendously blessed.

Despite great opposition, lack of funds, and a small membership, Pastor Johnson continued to be steadfast, unmovable, and abound in the work of the Lord to accomplish the vision the Lord had given him.

Since his appointment as Pastor, he has seen the membership grow from 15 to as many as 300 parishioners. Under the administrative leadership of Pastor Johnsons, LOV had extensively remodeled the former edifice, established the LOV A Second Chance Foundation, obtained a new 1994 fifteen passenger Ford Van for the Youth Department at no cost to us, 1996 - received a fifteen hundred dollar ($1,500.00) grant from Valley Partnership of A Drug Free Community to take three (3) van loads of youth to Magic Mountain, received a twenty five thousand dollar ($25,000.00) grant from Desert Hospital Foundation for a van for our Drug and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program and a number of other accomplishments.

In 1999, the Lord moved upon Pastor Johnson to lead the church into building God a beautiful edifice to worship in. On January 11th, 2007, Pastor Johnson and the congregation demolished the old facility to prepare for the erection of the new edifice.

Pastor Johnson believes we are a church that provides ministries that not only lead God's people to Christ, but develops them both naturally and spiritually. After 14 plus years of dedicated service, he continues to seek God and humbly serve God's people. He is an anointed teacher, preacher, coach and spiritual leader.

He is a visionary with the gifts of preaching, prophecy, faith and administration and it is with these gifts that he will continue to lead the members and ministries of Lily of the Valley Worship Center into their destiny.
